Im here!!!

Ok, so i know its been awhile and i havent updated my blog till now. Anyways, here's the run down. Montana is GORGEOUS! My plane touched down into Billings this past saturday at 8:30pm and from there I stayed with 4 other girls at a host families house. They were so nice! We ended up sleeping in a well furnished basement. ( They thought it was funny that I hadnt really been in one, other than when I was 7.) The next morning we all got ready and met at the Kmart parking lot, where half the staff (like ourselves) were going to ride a bus to Clydehurst. Once we rode down the EXTREMELY bumpy gravel road, we got to the camp. I can't believe I get to live in this beautiful place! (Trees in the surrounding like a forest, but open green meadows full of yellow sunflower like flowers, with deer, and rivers roaring. The whole ambiance is breath taking. And thats not even mentioning the bright blue sky with white puffy clouds.) (On premise they have a pool, sand volleyball court, basketball/tennis court, foosball, pool tables, ping pong, you name it they have it.)  When we got there we unpacked and got ourselves all situated. Since I've been here, I've had my laundry, dishes, and meals done for me; and i get all the tea and coffee I want. I still cant believe I have gotten this amazing oppertunity from God. Can't wait till the campers come this sunday. (Please be praying for them and the ministry.) This next list in a nut shell has been only a few of the awesome things I've gotten to experience:
  • Hiking to a waterfall (on the way we explored some deep bear caves, after that, we got to the waterfall and a couple of us got in and stood directly under the falls!! Man was it cold, it was run off from the snow in the upper mtns.)
  • Learned to play Bunko, and its actually fun!
  • Saw a wild moose and her baby
  • Cleaned up the tack room
  • Got to pick up the horses from another ranch! and bring them (all 13) to our camp. (That was like the 3rd day of being up here, the horses weren't up here at first)
  • Did the ropes course =]
  • Made some horse trails
  • Taught the counselors how to horse backride (still need to teach the crew boys and girls, or highschool staff)
  • Spinning tops on steroids
  • Great food! (not your stereotypical camp food)
  • Good convos.
  • De-ticked horses!! ( SO gross, had to pull one out of a horse the size of your thumb.)
  • Gone on 3 trail rides + a day, ( which gets very exhausting!) ( Today I was riding a white horse named Freckles and they were firing guns and he started spinning but after awhile he was a champ and stood still while they fired. Speaking of which, my horse that I think im going to be riding this summer Skipper, is SUCH a punk! (I wouldnt let him run home, or trot and man did he throw a fit, kept doing this buck/ rear thing) Showed him who was boss in the end though ;)
  • MILKED A HORSE (she's like a grandma horse with no foal, weird!)
  • Spent the day in Billings and tried B-dubs buffalo wings (apparently everyone out here knows about them up here, they were so good! like a sports grill but a notch up)
  • Chapel (great worship songs)
  • met some rad friends! and families (there kids are hilarious!)
  • Galloped a horse in the pooring rain, on a dirt road, near a WIDE river on the left and a green meadow on the right. Wind in my face, cold to the bone, but man what a BLAST
Those are merely a few things. This has already been quiet the adventure. The last two days has been challenging though. The first day I came up here I paired up with a girl named Hollie, and she was sick so naturally I'm trying to get better fast. Days up here are so long and you get ALOT done, but man do you feel exhausted. I wquldnt be suprised if my grammer sucks. Im drifting off as I write this, but wanted to give you an update. Will revise this and add more soon.

Tomorrow!

So I've never actually written a blog before, but I guess this will be the perfect time to start. For those of you that aren't quiet sure what I'm doing, I'm leaving June 4th (aka tomorrow) for Montana. I'll be gone until August 14th. This has been such a blessing and God has totally opened this door. I will be working as a wrangler on a Christian ranch camp. (called Clydehurst) I'm getting nervous but when you know the Creator of the universe is with you, it becomes easier. This is my first time away from home for more than a week at a time, and first time away from family and friends. I have never been farther north than Nor Cal. (Ohio when I was 5 doesn't count) This is going to be quiet the adventure, and can't wait to see what God does. So thankful that He has given me this experience and that it is with horses (which I've been working with sense I was 3) and kids (which I have also been working with for sometime.) He took the best of both worlds and made a job out of it : ) Needless to say, its about 3:00 am, have had a blast these past few weeks in Simi (learned some good old line dancing moves to take with me) , and a new chapter is about to unfold. I'll be packing today and leaving at 12:30pm on Sat. Please be praying that I would lean on God, and that I would put complete trust in Him as the center of my life. (Proverbs 3:5-6) <- This has been my prayer. Also please be praying for the ministry, the other staff, and all the speakers coming up. Have a great summer! Will keep everyone posted on whats going on in the 'Big Sky' state :)   P.S. In Montana the elk, deer and antelope populations outnumber the humans. P.P.S The average square mile of land contains 1.4 elk, 1.4 pronghorn antelope, and 3.3 deer. ((I would love to see 3.3 deer running around haha))

  !!HERE WE GO!!
